Our Company's Leaders

Tyler Bell
CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

Tyler Bell is the CEO for BroadStar and past CEO of Blonder Tongue Telephone. He began his career by founding Global Satellite in 1983 with his two brothers. As a result of his capable leadership, the company grew from a single storefront selling home satellite systems, to the largest residential system dealer in Florida within one year. As Global Satellite grew, an overwhelming number of requests were presented by high-rise and high density, multiple unit facilities seeking alternatives to incumbent providers. Tyler shifted the direction of the company to meet the needs of this new customer base and worked extensively with property owners and developers to determine their specific needs for enhanced property services and consumer conveniences. Tyler pioneered and met these needs with a triple play offering by bundling video, voice and data services with enhanced features that rivaled the incumbent’s offerings. As this business started to grow, Tyler saw a way to lower costs by offering bulk services to allowing properties, thus allowing the company to take advantage of volume purchasing while maintaining a very substantial reoccurring, long term revenue source. Tyler’s vision and efforts have resulted in BroadStar’s recognition at national trade shows and associations which, in turn, has earned him a prestigious seat on the board of the International Multiunit Communications Council.

Douglas Bell
PRESIDENT

Douglas currently services as the President and co-owner of BroadStar Communications, LLC. Douglas received degrees in architectural and civil engineering from Northeastern University and has continuing education credits from the Hartford Graduate Center in project management and marketing. In 1983, together with his two brothers, Douglas helped found Global Satellite, which opened ten stores across Florida and grew to be one of the largest retailers of satellite television to residential subscribers. As the residential market diminished, Douglas focused his attentions to the commercial arena and specifically the Multi Dwelling Units (MDU’s) communities. Douglas made a concerted effort to concentrate on commercial users, MDU’s and in particular Resort RV parks. During the next five years, over one hundred properties were deployed servicing more than twenty thousand subscribers. The company received numerous awards and accolades such as the coveted National Campground Association’s “Supplier of The Year Award.” Douglas and his brother founded BroadStar Communications to compete with incumbents in MDU communities. They developed a business model utilizing in-house installation crews and technicians as well as a customer service center staffed by trained personnel as opposed to answering systems and services. BroadStar now services properties from New York to Florida as well as Texas and Michigan, Douglas is actively involved in community service and youth organizations.
